· Through Waves' Recording Log - Part V ·

Hullo, me hearties.

This is The Through Waves’ Recording Log – Part V.
Previous Log

(Are you all enjoying Through Waves' New Website? Doesn't it look marvelous?)

So, the recordings for this new album are indeed finished. Now it is time to properly master all the tracks: a seemingly endless enterprise of days just sitting in front of the laptop, with a headset on and splinting headaches. I hope I don’t get deaf before I reach the 30’s. I am postponing this affair until at least March is halfway in, because that isn’t a job I can pull off with this hideous Summer heat.

While he is working on that, Mr. Multitask Holtz also divides his attention crafting the artwork for the album – which, mind you, is going to be another “book-bound” black boxset, following the formats of the original limited edition of “Sail, Schooner” and the ultra-limited boxset version of “Deconstruct the Debris” –, all the while actually hand-making a very special edition of the upcoming (and ONLY) single taken from this work. I can’t get into much details about it just now, but this single is going to be a lovely opening chapter for my 2012 musical cycle, and I really hope you all enjoy it. So yes, two releases for this year: the full-length album and a single extracted.

Since I really don’t have much to say on this here entry, I will leave you with a tiny little video I’ve captured of one of my daily rehearsals. It’s quite crude, and I apologize… But here you have yet another new snippet of one of the songs!
(Please, do ignore my terrible bearded-state. Just pretend it is a proof of all my hard work: "I just don't have the time to shave it off!")
